    Maranatha-Come, Lord Jesus

Our title is a prayer - Maranatha!

We are people who pray "Come, Lord Jesus!"

We are called to pray it at all times, and in all circumstances.

We are called to live it, revealing Jesus, as He comes, to heal and save and make us one with Him and with each other.

We are believing, pilgrim people, travelling light, guided by God, - little brothers and sisters of Jesus. His Spirit protects, warns and inspires us; strengthens, rebukes and encourages us.

God is not a silent companion.
Step by step He has taught us how to listen to Him.
He has taught us to love Him and trust Him and to be obedient to Him. Prophetic communities will inevitably be subjected to spiritual attack.

The point of assault will be the receiving of God's words. The devil would attack this life-line but thankfully has failed miserably.

We have heard God speak over the years clearly, simply. His words have been confirmed and, in the measure of our response, they have been honoured.

The noise, confusion and lies of the world prevent us from hearing what God is saying. We are fundamentally a listening community.

Our discipline is waiting upon God, in silence, expectancy and awe.

This is not the way of the world, which argues, debates, considers and questions.

The world bows down to human intelligence and the democratic processes. Christians bow down to the will and rule of God.

He speaks to us through dreams and visions, through imagination and through intellect.
He speaks to us in words, ideas and concepts.
He speaks to us through scripture.
He speaks to us through one another.
His words of knowledge provide tangible evidence and guidance.
His words of wisdom are invested with profound and long-term significance.

He lays words of prophecy upon our hearts and places them upon our lips.
He leaves us in no doubt about the integrity of His message.
If we are deaf, He will speak loudly.
If we do not understand, He will speak clearly.
If we are confused, He will speak simply.
If we ignore Him He will speak repeatedly.

He gave us three simple words:
UNITY - oneness with Him and with each other.
HEALING - wholeness in Him and with each other.
RENEWAL - new life in Him and with each other.

His call to us is simple: Ask! Seek! Knock! Come! Follow! Go! Peace!

From the beginning He called us to be a community of love, bound together by Him, acknowledging that it is the devil who divides, rejoicing that the Lord gathers us together as one.

We are called to a balance between prayer and service, between freedom and order, between the personal and the social, between silence and proclamation, between the new and the old, between truth and love.

The pattern of His instruction has been consistent:
    He said "be healed".
    He said "be one".
    He said "be renewed".
    He said "be peacemakers".
    He said "feed my sheep".
He told us to "equip the saints".

He told us to "live the truth in love".
He called us to "grasp the handle of the sword of truth".
He called us to "speak to the nation".
He called us to "sound the trumpet".
He called us to "speak for the children".
He called us to "unmask the spirit of the age".
In all this, He called us to prayer.

Today, He is calling us to repent.
He is calling us to warn of the gathering storm clouds.
He is calling us to engage in spiritual warfare.
He is calling us to proclaim the Gospel as public truth to enable His people and His Church, to receive in full measure of His Spirit, to convict us of our sins, and shortcomings, and to empower us as His Body, His family, His flock His army,His people, His presence.

He gave us three further words SIMPLICITY - that we should speak and live the simple Gospel.
POVERTY - that we should be humble and poor in Spirit
URGENCY - that we should respond to His promptings - here and now without delay.

We believe the next stage of our journey is crucial. It will take us into battlefields. It will take us to the mountain tops.
We will be brought into new situations.
God will surprise us with His limitless love, His liberating truth and His mighty power to save.

In all our journeying we raise the name of Jesus above the names of humankind.
